The manual says check level with dipstick, done that, and the oil is half way up the flat part of the dipstick ,
:confused:there are no markings on the dipstick that indicate whether it should come up to the top. or half way up or where? would be grateful if someone could enlighten me,

Volvo says anywhere in the flat area of the dipstick, without screwing it into the lid.
I like to keep the level in the upper inch of the flat. Just don't over fill it.
