merc 125 salt water, 2002. it used to leak oil wen trimmed up to the point were it would run out of the cowling.


so, easy fix. dont fill it so dam much. but then i noticed i was still getting oil in the cowling, all over the inside, and leaking out the back of the cowling. further inspection and on the back side of the oil resivoir, there is a small hole on the top. im guessing for ventilation for the pump. is there spose to be a check valve of some sort for this hole. i think the oil is just splashing through this hole while running. can i just plug it? is the fill cap ventilated?
