Hello,
I was wondering if you would be able to offer an opinion on my 2009 Mercury SeaPro 25hp(Tohatsu)
At WOT, I have an intermittent "ding" coming from the recoil area of the motor. I have a video of it but it is too large to post on the forums. I can simulate the sound by flicking my finger on the pulley underneath the cord rewind. Could it be a weak spring or something? The sound can also be made by pulling the rope until it engages. At the moment it engages the ding can be heard. In this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0N2-ReYVoQ the sound can be heard at around 4.5 seconds into the video(not my video). Can you offer any input? If I pull off that assembly are things going to fly out?

Thanks

Re: Tohatsu Guru

It might be a spring, in the recoil starter starter assembly, that has come loose...
