55 Scott Atwater 5.0 parts swap question

I have a 1955 Scott Atwater 5.0 with a broken casting on the mid-section right next to where the twist grip throttle mounts. Must be a common problem cause I have another Scott with the same problem. I also have a chance to pick up on a complete mid-section with throttle handle and all. It's from a 54 7.5 horse. Both are bail-a-matics. Will the mid section from the 7.5 be a match for the 5.0? Anybody know before I buy it?

Trying to wade through the parts book, it appears that the 1954 5hp and 7.5hp use the same steering handle mount. HOWEVER, the 1955 steering handle mounts were changed for both 5 and 7.5. Will the 1955 retrofit the 1954??? I don't know.

And as for the whole mid section assembly, that gets even more complicated.
