so im looking for a ladder for my swim platform and i find this

i cant afford something like this right now but it makes me wonder. can the anti-cavitation plate (i guess thats what its called) really take this kind of weight or is this just a bad idea?? having some of the larger male members of my family hopping around on my outdrive seems like a crazy idea to me.

I'm not positive on the answer but I'd think about it this way. When the boat is planing, or moving at any speed for that matter, all the pressure pushing the 2000lb+ boat is being transferred from the prop, to the drive, to the transom assembly, and to the transom of the boat, propelling it forward. That has to be a lot more pressure than a 200 pound person stepping on the drive, and it is designed to handle that just fine. I also doubt they would sell it without doing extensive testing.

Ayuh,.... I see that thing doin' the same thing Whale-tails do,....

Bustin' the cav-plate into pieces....

Tell yer fat friends to step on the drive to get in the boat...
step 1 is to above the prop, step 2 is to the top of the drive, step 3 is into the boat...
That's how I get in, quite Easily....
