Coil wire burning, starter not turning over???

Hi folks, I have a AQ170 I/O. Last year I replaced the coil with a built in resister and performed a full tune up, wires plugs points, etc. boat ran great all year. Just went down to get it running this past weekend. Turned key and tried to start. Starter not cracking over left key on for a minute or 2 and one of the wires going to coil started smoking I think it was the brown/red wire. I did not have the time to start tracking it down was getting late.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
