I keep trying to find specifics but im having trouble, bought this boat a week ago and took it out, it would run full speed like a champ but want to die when in low throttle so I took the carbs off and cleaned them put them back on to find the fuel hose was broke. I could not find one so I kept the lower half and put a splitter on with a smaller diameter hose I believe a 1/4 in, fired up in driveway ( not like that matters lol) put it on water and boom dies as soon as you kick it into gear.
I was in current and started drifting away, so only way I could get it to work was push the warming lever up half way aand then kick it into gear, that moved me around slowly until i got back to dock, I then started adjusting the silver screws? one turn too far and it would die so I adjusted to the best that I knew how and it still bogged down and died. Now I notice there are two gold screws that have long needle like pins aattached what are these? do they need adjusted? the previous owner has them screwed down as tight as they will go. I have not tested for compression or spark because I need to buy the tools, but as stated earlier before I took it apart it ran at full throttle great...but now just dies. Am I screwed? or are there solutions? maybe I need to idle higher? but then idk how to adjust that either. I am semi mechanically inclined. could it be the smaller hose? or the fact that I have it splitting off into two lines instead of the normal one line? any help would be appreciated. I hear you guys are the best of the best!
