Does this look like a 1961 Glasspar G3?

There's a mounting bracket at the edge front of the splashwell, it was originally removable? In a glass boat?

No title, & it is a total wreck. PO had no clue & destroyed the gelcoat

I think they made the G3 with the full center divider for 2-3 years before making it a pass through.Try fiberglassics G3 dedicated forum located in there main forum.

Just a follow up post, we've gotten 1/2 the boat cap done as a demo.

Not too shabby. Typically it's a roll on application, not sprayed on, but w/ @12%MEK it sprayed & laid down pretty well. Not the easiest product to work with but I'm happy with the results. It is an incredibly hard & durable finish 2 part aliphatic resin. UV stable & does not require a clear top coat...

Looks good! What engine are you thinking about putting on this boat?

Re: 1961 Glasspar G3????

Unfortunately, this boat has seen it's last open water. The previous owner butchered the cap, the hull, the transom & the stringers. I am using it as a training tool for possible applications of a product we normally don't use on fiberglass. So the other 1/2 of the cap may never see any changes, left for reference. The side we did in white will get prepped & done in a different color at the next training day.

If all the parts & pieces were there, and the existing gelcoat hadn't been ground off in an extremely BAD fashion, this could have been a nice, sleek & sexy boat again....Sadly it won't. But being a wreck makes it an ideal training platform, so at least it's staying out of the landfill.
