wiring digram for a 12-24 volt four wire system.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to wire my trolling motor so that it opperates on 12volt or 24 volts. Was trying to charge the batteries when the cables started smoking. I could use some advise.

Not nearly enough info. This has been discussed to death here. Use the search feature.
1) What boat. 2) what trolling motor, 3) is the motor CAPABLE of 12/24 operation, 4) what charger 5) batteries wired with two, three, or four wires from batteries to the bow panel and receptacle. 6) has wiring been mucked with. See what we need?
