1974 15 hp evinrude

i have 1974 evinrude that was running fine,then i hit a log whith engine while under full power!!! the engine started reving up then down to an idle, did this while i held it at full throttle, when i killed engine it failed to restart! when i squezed buble on fuel line it fluded the engine, the buble woudnt get ferm, so i took carb off and cked it out,removed needle and seat and replaced whith new one, now it dosnt flood but still wont start,removed flywheel cked sheer pin its ok,replaced plugs,cked points, new fuel, replaced priming buble gets ferm as if its priming up, still wont start, any tips would be great!!! thanks

Welcome to iboats. :)

Check spark.
Check compression.
Try squirting some premix directly into the carb,

Let us know what you find.

thanks for the reply, i cked the spark its good,nice blue ark, and the compression is good !

and yes it will run if i squret fuel straight to carb , so im thinking maybe fuel pump!

use your primer bulb to keep the carb bowl full and it should run well as long as you pump the bulb, this will help diagnose a f/p problem
You might also have developed an air leak at the connector for the fuel line to motor connection.
