1973 JOHNSON 33hp. needing some advice!

I am going to buy a 1973 johnson 33 hp, and I'm wondering if this motor will push my 1973 ranger bass boat tri-hull 16ft fibgerglass its a good. Size boat. holds 4 people and rate for a 115hp at max

Welcome to iboats. :)

As a general rule a boat needs at least 70% of the rated HP in order to perform satisfactorily. That means at least 80HP for your Ranger.

Based on that, 33HP would be woefully underpowered and unlikely to get over displacement speed.

Don't waste your money on any outboard under 80HP.
