If you know wiring, then a diagram should not be necessary as boats are no different than any other low voltage wiring. Check the stickies at the very top of this forum (not the top of this page). Boats typically have two electrical systems so be aware of that. The large battery cables power the engine part of the boats system that includes the engine, the harness running from the engine to the control box and the instruments. Generally there is another pair of #8 or #10 wires from the battery to the fuse panel at the console. That's the "boat" harness and powers all other accessories. You should also do a very carefully though out diagram for how you want this to look -- failure to do so will result in a mess no better than you already have. The engine harness rarely requires rewiring so don't get into that unless it is absolutely necessary. Engine diagrams are available in the service manual for your sepecific engine. Instruments are daisy chained as shown in the stickies so that can be wired away from the boat.
