Hi All,

Just making sure I have this right on my 2000 DP-E (1.68), the props are aluminum A3 set:

-Notched thrust washer
-Forward prop
-Nut
-Smooth thrust washer
-Aft prop
-Plastic washer
-Cone

I ask because there looks like more space between the forward prop and the zinc and between the two props than I remember. This is my second year with the boat, so my mind may be playing tricks on me. The other reason I ask is that the boat originally came with B4 props and when I removed the props only the notched thrust washer was installed, I got the smooth thrust washer when I bought a set of C2 props.

So, is this the correct sequence, and why was there no smooth thrust washer on the original set of props (B4)?

Thank you,
Andy

P.S. I did do a search, but could not find the answer (probably my fault).

Referring to the attached diagram...

Locking nut #42

Plastic washer #38A

Why are you switching to the A series diesel props now?

Re: DP-E Propeller Installation

Thanks for the reply, I never had the cutters, are they necessary? I actually started with the B4 set, couldn't make WOT, so I switched to the A3 set, which worked until they got all banged up, so I switched to a C2 set that made WOT, but lost some top end. I had the A3 set redone, so I am going to start with them.
Thanks again,
Andy

Re: DP-E Propeller Installation

With mine the #43 fish line cutter has the thick thurst washer for the smaller shaft in it, and the thickness of the washer plus the thickness of the fish line cutter it is swedged inside of are the ony things that keep the two props from being against each other.

Thanks Maclin and Don,

36A and 40A are the parts I have, so looks like I am good to go.

Thanks again,
Andy
