Lower unit repairs

I have a 98 90hp Johnson. The lower unit needs to have the seals repaired as it has slight water in evidence.
Does it take alot of special tools ? Or can I get by without them. I have a fair amount of mechanical experience.
Is it doable? I'm not intimidated by much but I understand the need for special tools.

Get an OEM shop manual, then decide if you need more tools, or if you even want to do it yourself.
