Vintage VDO Tachometer OMC part no 291274 what engines will it work on

I have a new vintage VDO tachometer OMC part no 291274 and would like to know what engines I can use it on.Other than the light connections there are two spade connectors with neither indicating what they are for , it looks like the case would be ground.there is no selector switch so it must be specific to one application.Can anyone help me.

I talked to BRP today and they said it was last used in 1981 and is now obsolete. They didn't have any usage on mtrs for it. Could be it's an old stern drive tach.

Thanks for the reply on that tach ,I am going to do some more research on this as I have two of these new in the box and would like to now where to apply them for my use or someone else.
