I have a 94 J115hp outboard and the plate on the motor says the model number is J115TXARC but can't find this model number anywhere. Serial # is 03627071. I know I am reading it correctly. What am I missing? Thanks....

Re: Johnson 115hp model number is non existent??

I googled, and found:
Gidday, Can anyone tell me what my motor weighs; Johnson 2 stroke 115 1994 extra long shaft (J115TXARC)

and:
I have a 94 J115TXARC, 4 cyl 90 cv. The first thing was the starter would not turn the flywheel (she hasn't been started for over a year)

So I went to a parts site and found this model:
1994 J115TXARS Johnson Outboard Parts

The 's' instead of 'c' denotes a change in the years' production run. Pretty confident you have a '94 115hp.

Barney, Your engine is listed in the factory parts list as a 1994 extra long shaft engine. The C at the end of the serial number is an internal factory model run digit.
