gimbal housing

Ok this is what I have going on, I have a alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive and I broke the drive shaft and when it broke the gimble ring and bell housing broke. So when I was taken it apart I saw a very small crack in the gimble housing. So what I'm asking is if I need or have to replace the housing.

Ayuh,.... The quick, 'n easy way out is to buy a Complete used freshwater transom assembly,...

figure, 'bout $200/ $350....

I got one off ebay and it had a bolt broke off in it and I just got a different one the other day and it has a hole under the stud
