what size fuses????

im going to be installing the blue sea add a battery kit. i will be using 2 awg wire. i read on here that the size of the fuse should reflect the wire size which i looked up and is 200a. but i also seen other peoples diagrams with the same setup and same size wire with 60a fuses. any help would be great?

a 2 gage wire is rated at 200 amps, but yes you can use a smaller fuse, how ever what sort of load are you expecting to draw. and where will the fuse be placed.

fuse will be placed on 2 gauge wire from the battery to my acr. my boat had the normal stuff, nothing fancy at all drawing power

Where the fuses are placed and what size they need to be should be shown on the instructions with the device. They should be placed within six inches of the positive post on the batteries. The accessories have their own fuses and should be in a fuse panel and each fuse sized slightly larger than the current draw of the particular accessory.
