I know it is to early for a question about winterizing my engine but I am new to this boat and plan on doing this my self but want to be correct with all parts of this process.

Can you help? I have a Mercruiser V6 230hp.
With an open cooling system.

I see the drains on each side of the engine
and for the exhaust manifold. Should I also
be looking for a drain on each side for the
exhaust elbow?? If so could I get an idea as to when these drains should be found.

I did buy the manual but the picture for the elbow drains (If I have them) was not clear.

Thanks

Re: Winterize Engine

pulling the manifold drains also does the risers, there should be 2 brass plugs on each side of the riser to double check. one thing thouogh, dont just pull the plugs, use a drill bit, wire, etc to make sure the drain is not jammed up with any crud and does completely drain
