Hello, I would like to get some input on price or anything I need to look for in the purchase of a boat.
I am looking at a 2002 Rinker 212 engine hour meter is showing 83 hours rather its right or wrong I have no idea. The motor has been replaced do to freezing and busting the block. The boat shop that did the work is who I am buying it from and is going to offer a 6 month warranty on motor only. the boat seems to be in perfect condition with only one spot in a seat about the size of a dime. They are asking $12,000 for it.

http://www.nada.com or http://www.bucvalue.com can give you an idea of price.

Since it has lived a troubled life, I would not give it more than average retail.

The boat is 10 years old, so time to start checking for rot in floors and stringers, transom, etc.

is there a trailer? That price is a bit high but the warranty on a 10 year old unit might be worth some extra. Definitely a water trial and a good look around for rot is in order. Do you know boats or have a friend who does?

Thank you and this is below avergae retail listed on NADA. I have checked the transom and seems to be good. But I believe this is a wood free boat I know all the floors are fiberglass. I have been around boats all my life but am far from a expert.

Yes he is going to take it out for a water trial this weekend. I don't know anyone else that really knows boats in this area. But we are taking it on a water trial this weekend.

Sorry, Yes it has the original trailer with it tandam axle trailer. Tires are in great shape no dry rot has bearing buddies which I am sure almost all do anymore. and trailer brakes other then that I believe just a standard trailer.

I just read back through my post and noticed something I should have clarified. The motor was a brand new motor all the paper work and everything is provided. Sorry I wrote this sort of quick while I was at work.
