175 hp Merc Where and how to add hydraulic fluid?

1985 Champion Fish and Ski 175 hp Merc. Motor lowers on it's own. When I raise the motor it goes real slow for a few seconds and makes a high pitched noise then it goes up faster and quieter.
I do not know how and where to add fluid. I also don't know what kind to put in there.

Fluid should be ATF if you are running outboard 3 ram TT system of the mid 80s.Fill screw is either top port side or front (facing outboard)Pressure/manual release is lower starboard side of unit...
Fill to top,tilt up and down a few times then check level again.repeat till full.
