so I have a bass boat (1988 bayliner bass) and on this boat i have a 1970 evinrude 115 motor (dont ask how that came to be). But.... it didnt have power trim and tilt so I got a CNC unit and placed it on boat in stock holes on transom. The motor appears to have several holes to mount the motor up or down in the water. My question is, how do I determine which one to use. I have heard several theorys on this. Do I want the prop and gear box below the bottom of the boat, or do I want it level with bottom of boat.

let me know

thanks

You want the AV plate (plate above prop), to be even to about 1 inch above the bottom of the boat. So you will have to do some measuring. It may perform better at either position, its something you have to try, and maybe make a change.

There are threads in this forum, that will help. "Read This First" is one.

The condition and design of your prop will affect the height.
If the CNC has a setback usually that may actually require a little more height.
Set it up at a height you like and test; if no venting issues under most conditions raise it a little more and test.
