im helping a friend of mine with this. we bought a water pump repair kit and replaced the pump. the copper tube that runs from the water pump is in the hole that goes up to the engine. we took it to the river and put the boat in and there is not a drop of water coming from the exhaust? any ideas. the old water pump impeller was not broke

Did you miss the water tube when you put the g/c back ? Is the mtr overheating ? Is the water pump impeller key installed correctly ?

Yes. It's right on top of the cyl head under a cover held in by 3 bolts. Pull the cover off, remove the thermo and start the mtr up and see if you get water out of there.
