I am looking specifically for specifications for the cam that comes in a 2000 350 Mag EFI.

Anyone know? I've googled and can't find them. Any help is appreciated.

Re: 2000 350 Mag specifications

I have never seen a Merc spec for camshafts. Something close to a truck spec will be the same as a boat...
Any particular reason for asking?

The motor i'm building for my boat. I was going to get an unused cam from someone for $25.00 for a 2000 350 MAG EFI. Wondering what the spec were as compared to the cam my motor already had.

Not compatible. Your engine (I assume the one in your signature, '95 5.0L) has a flat lifter cam and the one from the 350MAG is roller....

Signature is incorrect. I've tried to change it but have unable to do so...

I'm building a 96 vortec motor with roller cam setup to put in there.

What are you looking for in a camshaft? Considering in 2000 (and beyond) that a 350 MAG MPI was the highest rated HP you could get in a 5.7 (300hp) I'll guess the cam is the "best" that Mercruiser has. But Mercruiser is a little protective of their specs.

Re: 2000 350 Mag specifications

I can spend the money for a little bit of a hot cam then have to do head modifications for the springs to accomodate the cam OR spend a little for the MAG cam and do nothing to the springs because they will handle .470 lift from the factory. So, i'm trying to save a little $$$ during the build inistead of spending 350 for a new cam and new springs plust the extra work to the heads for the new springs.

I am fairly certain that Mercruiser doesn't modify those heads on that engine. So if your springs statement is correct, I'd say the 350MAG cam is what you would want, with no mods.
