my 1975 115hp run good last week took it out for 5 hours as i pulled to the dock and put it in reverse it stalled it has done this many times before too.i have repaired 90 persent of this motor/ plugs/lower unit/power pack/fuel pump /carbs.i just changed primer bulb for a new moller bulb type and now i cant even get motor to idle i also messed with throttle adjustment and think i screwed it up and tried to ajust it back where it used to be set .does anyone know where it should be set.i messed with it due to hard starting and made it worse now.will reinstall old bulb on tomorrow and try it again .do i set idle up in water or muffs.

You need the factory manual before you start doing any more parts changing. Sounds like a float setting problem to me. If anyone tells you the float needs to be level, go buy a factory manual. $20 on ebay and worth way more.

Idle issues can range from low idle timing to dried fuel clogging the special dedicated idle passages in the upper carb body. Alway possible you may need to pull the carbs apart and overhaul them. Agree with wired247, if you want to get into the details of servicing your engine yourself-get a factory service manual. That is only reference manual to use on that engine. You can get a factory original from the original printer: outboardbooks.com.
