omc 5.7 cobra thru hull ideas

So i got a 5.7 cobra and I want to put some thru hulls on it without pulling the motor and y pipe. What i was thinking was change my risers from the U shaped one to the one that is more L shape? Is the bolt pattern the same? Then cap my y pipe and run marine hose to fittings on my transom. Dooes this make sense? Would it work? thanks

Ayuh,.... Are these Log manifolds, or Center-riser,..??
