I can only get it running more smoother if i restrict the air intake by about 2/3rds. I have stripped the carb and sprayed carb cleaner in all the holes but am a bit puzzled, does anyone have any suggestions please?

Sounds like a clogged idle jet or passage.Check the gas for water and dirt. These carbs tend to clog up quickly and must be compleatly disassembled and soaked to remove the debris.Just spraying with carb cleaner will NOT work.Good Luck,Ted

Be sure to remove the brass plug for the mixture screw before soaking. Soak the carb in cleaner. Sold at napa by the gallon. besure to remove all the jets and needles. Any water damage to the bowl?

Re: suzuki df15 4 stroke possible carb problem

I took the carb to the main dealer and they stripped it and put it in the ultra sonic bath. That didn't cure it so i drilled and removed the anti-tamper cap covering the mixture screw and adjusted it and that seems to have done the trick.
I hope to be launching it tomorrow. Thanks again for the replies, it all helps us learn.
