Hey iboats. First off, I just bought a 1977 Cajun with a 75 johnson 85hp on it. I gave 600 dollars for it. I had a trailer and title to both. First time owning one. I've fished all my life on boats, so thought it was a great deal. I haven't checked the compression, but changed gas, new filter and it fired right up. So, I started googleing everything about old boats and I'm thinking I'm going to have to replace stringers and transom. I'll be great because I'd get a kick out of rebuilding. Just wanted to say hello and I'm going to fire up the camera and be asking some questions, but I think I've got the gist of it. I've been on your site for about two weeks reading. So, for now, whats up. This is Mitch from Mooresville NC. Can't wait to get started and talking to you guys. Later.

Mitch

Use photobucket to host your pics. This forum has chronic issues with pictures so it's best to just them elsewhere.

I just figured out the pic problem, if you guys want to pass it on to the moderators. If you re size the pics to the lowest settings, they will load. And I wasn't trying to boost my post count (not complaining though), I was just doing one at a time.

Re: 1977 Cajun Rebuild

I'm going to take some more pics Sunday. I've decided to go ahead and jump in on the stringers and transom. But I'll ask a lot of questions as I go and take a ton of pics, so that it might help the next guy. I'll try not to ask a lot of questions that have been already posted on this site. But hope you guys will bear with me and I'm going to try to set a record on one guy with no helpers. Shooting for three days, not at once, but total time. Or is that even close to a speed record? Anyways, can't wait to get started and I'll be checking in.

Ok, first question. Can I do this on the trailer or do I need to frame it.
