First before the begging-Hello board, I did not know that iboats had a forum or I would have registered years ago. I mainly salt water fish but in winter when things slow down I switch to fresh. Fishing is not just a hobbie for me it is my passion second to my family. I hope I too can help some of you out when I have the answer. Hate to start out with a question especially one so simple, I can't find my book so I will ask here just to make sure my guess is right. I have a single 2006 yammie with low hrs, it is a F250TRX. The over heat alarm went off yesterday while trolling, I would turn the engine off for a few then it would start fine, then the alarm would come back on after 2-30 minutes. After the 4th time I took her in. It was the over heat alarm, on two occations I ran to the back to ck the stream, I had a great stream but, here is the kicker the water comming out of the pisser was cold, the same temp as the lake felt mid 40s. So, that tells me the water is not going through the block, I replace the impeller and housing every year wheather it needs it or not. I back flush after every use with salt away or soap. My first thought was the thermostats went bad (I am sure it has 2 not just one, again can't find my book) but don't the therms go bad open and not closed? Also wouldn't it overheat faster when YOT? What is your thought, thanks
