Hi! All,
Am rebuilding my carb in my 74 Ted Williams 4.5 HP Mod# 217.59464 . The float sits a little uphill from the hinge out. Does it need to be level with the rim of the carb body to be properly set? The bowl has a raised area that I am sure allows room for the float to rise? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou John

The float setting will require an
11/64" drill bit
The inlet needle hooks onto the float tab by means of a spring clip, the open end of the clip must face the choke end of the
carburetor.

Yes that raised area is for the float to set in.
You also want the orange fuel pump element's slot to set at the 8 O'clock & 2 O'clock position

Hi Mrcrabs, Hope you are doing well. Is the 11/64 drill bit used as a guage between the float and the rim of carb(at the oppisite end of the hinge? Thanks again for your help. Also thankyou for the orange fuel pump element setting. I appreciate it. John
