Is it possible to tell if e-tec has sank?

Is it possible to tell if an e-tec has been submerged in water. My e-tec sank but was pickled right away and cleaned out. The ecm is now fried. Is it at all possible to tell if the motor was underwater for warranty purposes?

If it was ran immediately after and all the water got out of it, then you should be good. If you don't get them running right away, then rust will destroy the innards in short order.

If the EMM is fried the factory will most likely want it back to test it. Take a chance and try it for warranty.
