1986 90 hp yamaha tilt trim not working properly

Hi
What oil do i use in the power tilt and trim? I think we used to use transmission fluid 30 years ago.

ATF dexronIII or yamaha power trim fluid.

I thought the fluid was low. The fluid was full. The tilt/trim motor runs both ways up/down. The motor tilts up really really slow and goes down by its self. The motor will not go all the way up with out me helping it. What should i do.

Should I just rebuild the tilt trim like replacing the o-rings and ball bearings. is there anything else i need to order first.

Most likely if your engine is leaking down you have a leaking valve? ?? Follow instructions in your yamaha factory service manual. Take a lot of pictures clean everything replace all your o rings. good luck.
