I just purchased a 1999 sylvan pontoon boat . The motor tilt and the fish finder always power on, however the navigation lights, radio ,horn, and live well pump are not powering on since tuesday. They worked tuesday but are not working now?? Any advice would be appreciated.

Dead battery???

Certainly one possibility, but we need a little more to work with. Does one battery supply all the power, or do you have two and a switch or something?

then I would start by looking at the battery end of things it should have a main power wire and a fuse supplying poser to the console and that sounds like what is a common socre of things that arnt working. If the main fuse is ok and the wire is atached then it will be in the fuse pannel in the console.

You may not realize this but boats have two electrical systems: A) the engine system and B) the boat system. Your trim system is part of the engine system. All the other stuff is part of the boat system so you have two issues -- not one. When some stuff works and others don't. or stuff behaves rather oddly, a bad ground is suspect. Check the battery cables (both ends please) and make sure they are clean and tight. Looking does not count here. Disconnect, thorughly clean and inspect and reconnect. Work on one issue at a time or you will drive yourself nuts. follow the juice. On the engine system current gets to the engine via the large red battery cable. From there is goes to the engine stuff and forward up the engine harness to the ignitiion switch. The igntion switch powers the gauges ONLY (or at least it is generally wired that way). The BOAT harness is two wires (black and red) that run up to the fuse or circuit breaker panel. Separate circuits go from the fuse/breaker panel to the various accessories. If you look at the stickies at the top of this forum (not the top of this page) you will see Generic Boat Wiring Diagram. Study it. Then go after the problem. Electricity is like water running through a pipe. If the pipe is broken it can't get to wherever it is supposed to go.
