what parts do a 72 80hp and a 72 50hp share? need help plz

iv got a 50hp and a 80hp mercury. i use the 80hp and the 50hp is in the shed with the lower unit off.. i need spark plug wires and maby even carbs .. so i was thinking.. can i take it off my 50hp mercury?

About the only parts I know for sure they share are the lower unit drain plugs. The 50 and 80 are very different motors... Carbs will not interchange. Ignition assemblies are quite different. The plug wires may interchange if the 50's are long enough for the 80.

Not much...maybe the choke solenoid and some internal wiring.
