2001 Merc 9.9 4-stroke has an engine oil leak. Looks like the powerhead base gasket has shifted and is leaking oil under the cowl, which then runs down the mid section / lower unit. Has anyone else had this problem? The powerhead removal sequence looks fairly straitforward, with 2 gaskets required for repair. I just want to rule out other potential areas prone to leaks prior to pulling it down. (The filter is not the source) thanks for any tips or recomendations, etc.
