Leaking fluid?????

I just went to lake to practice using my new SI unit and when I loaded the boat noticed this fluid leaking. It smells like gas and looks like oil & water have mixed. I have pictured where its leaking from. I looked into the top port of where the gear oil is and it looked good. So can you tell me what this is and do I need to take it to the shop. I have been fishing within last 2 weeks and didnt notice anything like this last time. It is a 1997 Yamaha 30hp tiller steer oil injected

Since this I changed the lower unit oil and it looked good, but changed anyway. Went back to lake and ran it about 2 hours, came home and checked lower unit and it looked new but this "stuff" was leaking very similar to the pics again. I did alot of idleing using my new SI unit. Could this be the culprit?

Remove cowl and check entire fuel delivery system from tank to carbs....sounds like gas leaking, maybe from stuck float valve, bad float, or similar, causing carb to overflow.

Since we can't currently see pictures, we are going to need to rely on what you tell us. By the sounds of it, it sounds like the "leak" is coming from the lower unit? You say the stuff smells like gas, and you have been idling/trolling around. You very well may be seeing the residue from unburnt 2 stroke oil which is completely normal, especially after continuous low speed operation.

Rogers and others, many thanks for the informatiom. I contacted one of the local boat shops here in town and gave them the scenario about long idling times and etc, he thought the same. Unburnt fuel and or too much additive too fuel was likly cause.
