What is the reason for moving a pontoon motor further back? Newer models seem to have the motor mounted behind the back of the logs instead of between them. Thanks.....

From what I've seen, the fuel tank on most are installed in front of motor so I'd say to access fuel tank.

It gets rid of the cut out for the motor pod giving you more deck space and it gets the engine in cleaner water so it runs better.

When you buy a new boat they measure it from tip to prop. Your boat may be 24 ft but how big is the box area.

Silver Eagle; Are there some Pontoon manufacturers who measure their boat lengths from stem to stern, and do not add the engine overhang?
