1895 Sylvan Sportster Brace question

Hello All,

Rebuilding this 85 Sylvan to use a tiller outboard.

Question is, can I remove this back horizontal brace off the back permanently? I've seen where the back-splash drain pan was rebuilt to a smaller size. Any advice.

Not sure if it will compromise the strength.

I'm afraid it would. You can probably move it around a bit but I wouldn't eliminate it.

you need that one.....

if you move it.....move it six inches to one side.......but add another on the other side
