1985 75HP Evin lower. Removal of Retaining ring/Circlip.

The tool made by OMC is $156. Can anyone give me a lead on a less expensive tool for this. All my other circlip pliers are too short to reach in.

recall someone taking it to an automatic transmission shop and he gave them $5 or so . another member ground tips into the ends of some harbor freight ex-long needle nose

Thanks for the responses guys. Have an older pair of Harbor Freights. Cut the inside of the tips angled back and rounded them off some. Added aluminum tube extensions to the handles for better leverage and pulled those clips out.
