Any Chaparral owners want to chime in?

My search for a trailerable (under 3000 lbs) cuddy to cruise the Rhode Island bays took a little turn today. I found a boat other than the Stingray that fits the bill. I is a Chaparral 205sse. The one I am looking at is a 2001 with 120 hours and reoprtedly in excellent condition. The owner is asking 12900 including a trailer. My questions are around handling and power. The boat weighs just 2600 lbs dry and has a 4.3 mercruiser 190hp. How does this model handle the chop and will the v6 be enough power? Allegedly this model runs in the mid to high 40s with this setup. Any opinions on this boat versus a Stingray 208cr cuddy? Do any of you wn this model?

I drove a 1999 205 LE, and the power and handling with the 190 v6 was more than satisfying. The boat could really move, and handled the 1 -2 foot chop in the bay with no problem. Top speed was GPS verified 50mph. It was turning a 14.5 X 23" vented SS propeller. Not sure about pricing, but it's a boat i would like to have.

My boat is older and heavier. 205hp Yamaha 4.3L. Dry weight is 3000lbs. With two adults she'll run 52mph. She handles like a dream and cuts smoothly through chop and swells.
