I have an older Onan generator------MCCK 1A/1D and I need to know if it is safe in my boat. Does anyone know? If not, is there any way I can make it safe?

Does it appear to be a marine gen-set, or a stationary power unit,..??

There was a guy at the club that said he was a retired Onan rep for the Northeast. He said he thought this generator was outlawed by the Coast Guard.
