I am going to be replacing my OMC transom seal tomorrow. What kind of sealent should I use between the rubber and transom?

3M 4200 or 5200 should work just fine.

I am told that the 5200 is very permanent in that it is more then difficult to remove later on. Is the 4200 like that?

I like the Permatex Copper, mainly because my boat is orangy red. Most boat builders used no sealant. Any RTV fine. I would think 4200 probably better than 5200. You don't need bonding, the clamp holds it.

Ayuh,... Define Better....

Easier to apply. The 5200 which I have seems to not be very easy to move around. And should I be able to remove it down the road in case I would need to replace the seal again?
