Hey there, I am looking for some tips from some of the experts on here. I am looking to buy a boat, I am young and only have 10-15000$ to spend. I live rite by the river, so a prop wont do me any good. Can you guys give me some ideas on what the best bang for my buck is? Im leaning towards the jet boat type.. any comments would be great

Go to the river.

Look for a boat that goes fast, and an owner that looks good and is having fun.

Then look at his boat, that's what you should buy.

Really, you're not giving us much info to work with.

Fast is relative.

Looks good is subjective.

And fun ?? is open to interpretation.

An 18' jon boat can look good.
And powered by a 125 outboard it will go fast.
And I'm sure I could have some fun with it.

If its a small river, a 12' hydro with a 60 hp jet would be a blast.

If its something like the Columbia, you need a bigger boat.

95% of the boats are jet boats. The river (peace river) is less then 1' deep in some spots that's why the prop is no good. Most boats are 16'. I may be leaning toward a sea doo because I my price range. Is it possible to find a nice jet boat for less then 20G?

Yes, you'll certainly find lots of jet boats for less than 20G. Might even be able to get a new one for that much. I have a buddy with the Yamaha 22' jet, it's a great boat. Twin jets, a ton of horsepower and fast as he**.. They have a smaller version with a single jet that would be good if you're looking for something smaller.

The Yammy technology is proven, but their boats are likely to be too big if the river (which I googled) is very shallow, as mentioned.

Advice on shallow water boats is slow in coming, as relatively few people have experience in boating in such shallow waters. I would think a jet drive and an aluminum hull would be mandatory. They're rare animals through much of the country.

Fiberglass doesn't hold up well even touching a rock.
