Looking at a 90 something 25hp. A friend bought it and ran it a few times then it ran hot. He took to a local shop and they replaced the waterpump and had it running. He took it to the launch and said he only got it to run for about 20 seconds before it died. He could not get it started again and finaly broke spring on the pull start. He decided to buy a new engine and offered me the old one. I fixed the spring and it appears to have good compression but I could not get any fire to the plugs. Looking closer I noticed two wires that came from the coils to the front of the engine that had been cut when they installed the new engine. The boat he had it on had a stearing console and I am guessing a key switch. What do I need to do with these wires. I assume they are the reason I am not getting fire. Any ideas?
