classic 50 45 hp water inlet housing removal.

Need help replacing water inlet housing. Do i need to remove powerhead? If so i've removed the 8 nuts but can't get head raised off housing. Thanks for any help.

i need to replace the water inlet housing part # 79799 it is the part the water pump pipe fits in . thanks

Pull the powerhead, lower unit and shift rod. If the powerhead is stuck you will need to break the gasket loose.
