Volvo 8.1 gxi

I am new to this board and I am looking at a 2002 Regal 326 with Volvo 8.1 GXI.
I heard that Volvos had a problem with the drives but I don't know the years. I would appreciate any comments on those engines.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.... What sorta problems,..??

I've heard some boat manufacturer's have set 'em in to low in the hull, 'n caused flooding issues...

Which drives have you heard have the problems, and what drives are on the boat your looking at. Volvo has a lot of different drives.
