Bonito Euro522 - clueless boat person - please help

Hello we have a Bonito boat that is a Euro522. Today the guy at the boat shop said that
the boat was 1985, he got this by looking at the serial number on the boat.
We thought the boat was a lot newer than this.
The serial is 1291085.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case because lm trying to figure out what year it is
so that l can sell it and what sort of $$ (AUD) it would fetch.

I take it this is an austrailian manufactured boat and you are in australia.... While the explanation given at the boat shop sounds plausible, I have no idea if it is accurate...... I'd suggest searching out the manufacturer (on the www) or a dealer....

here in the states we have a set of rules for the H.I.N. but they would not be relevant down under

They are made in NZ. Cant seem to get a number, all numbers l have for Bonito dont work.
l think the boat could be 1991.
Have spent most of the afternoon searching the internet.
l didnt trust the boat guy today, he offered me $5000 for the boat that we paid $19,000 for 2 years ago.

well now reading even more.... you need more numbers..... you have the serial number which falls between the manufacturer code and the date of manufacture....

i have emailed some people selling bonitos to see if the year corresponds to the serial.

Don't get the hull serial number and the HIN mixed you. They are different... To date from the serial number you would need to go back to the manufacturer. To date by HIN just 'decode' the number according to the government website....
