06 f115- orange piece in bottom of fuel bowl

what does the orange thingy in the bottom of the fuel bowl do? is it some type of float? thanks for your time,sherman

Its suppose to indicate water in the bowl these engines need nice clean quality fuel.

The orange ring will sink in gasoline, but will float in water. As Bluefish mentioned, clear fresh fuel is essential. Make sure you have an inline fuel filter (10 micron) between the tank and the engine. ;)
