I think it's the high speed needle that might still be clogged or may have some debri still in there. Engine runs great in idlle and mid range but once you open the throttle it will run for 5-10 sec then want to sht off and will if i don't thottle down. How do i remove the jet that is way in the bottom of the carb? Any tool mod pics so i can see if this will solve my problem? I included some pics of the caborn bild up inside the motor. 111016_001_001.jpg111016_002_001.jpg111016_003_001.jpg111016_004_001.jpg111016_005_001.jpg

Can you post a pic of the carb and the jet in question?

it's the jet on the botom of the carb where the needle sits behind the 7/16 nut on the drain pan.IMG00007-20111219-1831.jpg

I took a flat bladed screwdriver and filled it down to fit inside the carb cavity. Be carfull though as the jet is made of brass and will break off one of the sides if forced. I had to use a torch ( make sure all gas is gone and carb is away from motor ) and applied some heat several times to get mine to break loose.

I would test the fuel pump. It sounds like the fuel pump is not keeping up with demand.

You can check the fuel level in the carb, once you charge it up and after it dies at full throttle, then remove the top of the carb and see how much fuel is in there. If it's empty, or close to it, then I would say your fuel pump is not working properly. Try a different tank first to see if the problem persists. If it does, then it's time to replace the fuel pump.

I agree with Zephyr. Fuel supply is insufficient, OR, since it is a 9.5hp......... You could have an exhaust leak. I would pump the primer bulb and see if it smooths out and runs. If not then, take the cowl off and see if it runs. If taking the cowl off helps, it's an exhaust leak. If pumping the primer helps, probably fuel pump. It's unlikely that it's the high speed jet if it runs full throttle at all.
Good luck,
JBJ
