I have a Mercruiser 140 GM 181 I/L4 1968-1972 Serial # 2770077 that has a cracked block and I would like to find a replacement from a scrap yard or elsewhere if possible. Does anyone know what vehicles this motor was run in and how do I find that out for myself in the future?

Ayuh,... It's been run in Boats since the late 60s, 'n NEVER in an automobile...

There are NO motors from a car that'll fit...

But you may find one out of a harvester or a generator. It was an industrial engine.
